On November 10, 2025, two of our founders Sabina Shields Freeman and June Hetz met Sydney Harris-White and the America 250 PA crew on Zoom to share the Fairview Area Historical Society origin story.
The interview lasted about an hour and was published as a podcast: PA250 Podcast “Start Here, America Did” .
Their conversation traced the origins of the Fairview Area Historical Society to the energy and excitement surrounding their work on the Fairview Bicentennial Committee. This steering committee included many of our society’s founders.
Our organization’s origin story begins with the 1976 Bicentennial Celebration, and in 2026, we will be celebrating our 50th year as the country celebrates its 250th Birthday with the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
