On  June 24, 1968 the Centennial Committee met and among other things named a committee to select a court from among the candidates for queen.  No number was given for how many girls had entered their name for this competition.  Presumably, there were more girls to chose from than the large committee who chose them.

On the committee were listed: William Walker, Father Reilly, Perry Ferguson, Donald Miller, Bill Saint, Tom Solvedt, John Wright, Wayne Wilkins and  “Mrs. Lantzy.” (Notice, the first name of the only female on the committee was not listed.  Different times!)

They chose the group shone here.  They are, seated, l to r: Amber Lund, Arles Mills and Bonnie Getz.  Standing, l to r, Gail Loper and Sheila Arthurs.  The queen would be named at the Queen’s Ball on Saturday, August 17, which was the Saturday before the big three-day event the following weekend.
