An incredible photographic exhibit will be on display at the Sturgeon House on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, September 15 from Noon to 4 p.m.  Titled "Fascinating, Haunting and Mysterious Photography of Lake Erie Shipwrecks," the exhibit is all the work of diver Jeremy Bannister. Diver and underwater photographer Jeremy Bannister will present the September program based on the current exhibit on Wednesday, September 18 at the Sturgeon House (4302 Avonia Rd). The short meeting begins at 7 p.m. and Bannister's presentation will follow. On Wednesday, October 9, Dr. David Frew will offer the presentation "Erie Maritime Roots" for the Jefferson Educational Society (JES) at the Sturgeon House from 7 to 8:30 pm with a question and answer period included.  Dr. Frew had completed a considerable amount of research and written a number of books on Erie's maritime history.  Plan to come to this important presentation.  Call JES, 459-8000 to reserve your seat at the Sturgeon House.

The final fall lecture offered by the Jefferson Educational Society is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will be given by Michael Fuhrman.  His topic will be: "The Untold Story of the Soldiers and Sailors Home."  The history of this edifice goes back to post Civil War days and has quite a few turns and twists.   It promises to be a fascinating story that spans more than a century of Erie County history. Yes!  It's almost here again!  Our "Christmas at the Sturgeon House" open house is scheduled the first full weekend in December and this year the dates are Saturday, December 7 and Sunday December 8.  Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday hours are Noon to 4 p.m. So what?  Well!  There's no place like the Sturgeon House for Christmas.  It's magical.  Snow falling or not, the spirit of the season is here!  The house will be decorated…
