Quilt Patterns and Their Stories

May 23 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

FAHS is hosting Marcia Scott, Quilter Extraordinaire, to talk about quilt patterns and how they reflect social and political history current with the times.  The program is part of the county-wide HistErie week sponsored by the Erie County Library System.   The meeting will be at the Sturgeon House, 4302 Avonia Road (Rte. 98) on Monday, May 23 beginning at 7 p.m.

“Quilt patterns and styles change like fashions,”

Scott said, adding

“Quilts reveal stories about the eras of quilting throughout the history of the United States.”

Ms. Scott has considerable experience in quilting and teaches various methods at Millcreek Sewing and Fabric Shop.

Scott will be showing examples of quilts and would welcome members of the audience to bring a quilt and share its story.

The public is invited to attend.  Admission is free.

Parking is available across the street in the Presbyterian Church parking area.
